Videotape Consultations

 There may be times when you reside a great distance or are in need of some advice, but you are not ready to invest in weekly therapy. 

Here is another option:

Kay is able to watch a short video and assist parents with treatment methods, techniques, and recommendations for the child’s areas of need such as:

• Speech/articulation
• Receptive and expressive language
• Parent tips
• Treatment goals and methods for children with Autism
• Visuals or other means of communication
• Home environment
• Sibling involvement
• Apraxia
• Oral Motor techniques

The fee of $100 per tape/DVD includes a written report of specific suggestions for the child’s area of need and a telephone conference with one individual.

PLEASE NOTE:  Tapes will not be returned unless a suitable envelope and postage are included with the original tape.  Tapes must be VHS or DVD.

SomeTips When Videotaping:

1. Aim the camera at the child’s face.
2. Have the child imitate a series of vowels, words, phrases, and sentences if it is for speech.
3. Tape the child playing with favorite toys, reading a book, or playing with a sibling or parent.
4. Tape the child’s surroundings if applicable.
5. Tape situations where the child is having difficulty communicating.
6. Tape the child having a meltdown.
7. State at the beginning of the tape, what the problems is, and then try to keep the commentating to a minimum.
